Fort Myers - Lakes Regional Park

Welcome to Wheel Fun Rentals at Lakes Regional Park.  We have two rental locations at this park, one at the Marina (near the Train Ride), and another by the Beach.  Come enjoy our unique human powered vehicles for an outdoor experience like nothing else!  Our Surreys are perfect for a family bike ride or you can explore the freshwater quarry lake with one of our many boat rental options.  And when you get hungry, be sure to stop by the Whistle Stop Ice Cream Shop for a full assortment of lunch items, snacks, and of course ice cream, malts, and sundaes. With so much to do and see . . .  Lakes Regional Park is the place to be!

ABOUT THE PARK

Come explore the 279-acres of Lakes Regional Park on a leisurely ride on one of our Surreys, Deuce Coupes, or other unique cycles. You’ll enjoy a smooth ride around the park's paved paths, while you enjoy the sights of interesting wildlife and beautiful vegetation.  Other park features include a rock climbing wall, playground, a water feature playground, restrooms, free wifi and the Community Gardens, a sensory experience of plants, trees, and shrubs.  Also be sure to visit the Miniature Railroad and Train Village, which offers a 1.5 mile ride around a portion of the lake through a natural setting and ride through a tunnel.  Check out the park’s event calendar for information on farmer’s markets and other fun events throughout the year like our infamous pumpkin patch.

Make your next event a huge success with Wheel Fun Rentals! Our unique bikes and boats are ideal for group activities, birthday parties, family reunions, and other social occasions. Biking is a great option for groups interested in exploring the area. Surreys seat up to 6 people and Scavenger Hunt teams can compete on a course, solving riddles trying to be the first to cross the finish line. Or ask about our group rates on boats and splish-splash across the park’s waterways. We also offer a full selection of food including pizza, pub burgers, hot dogs, nachos, homemade ice cream, malts, sundaes, and more, sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. WHERE TO RIDE

You’ll enjoy every moment of your bike ride thanks to the park’s smooth well-paved paths.   An exploration ride around the park is approximately 2.75 miles round-trip and there are plenty of areas to stop and take photos, have a picnic, and enjoy the sights.  If you prefer the water, come pedal your way around the 158-acres of a freshwater quarry lake that was created by a gravel mining operation conducted in the 1960's. The lake, with depths ranging from a few inches to twenty feet deep is great for boating and fishing for bass, catfish, and other fresh and saltwater species. The lake also supports an array of spectacular wildlife and a variety of birds for great bird watching. There is no better way to enjoy the peace and quiet of the park's water than on one of Wheel Fun Rentals comfortable pedal boats, kayaks, or our cool new Hydro-bikes. 

WHERE TO WALK

The park contains approximately 2.5 miles of paved or natural paths for walking, jogging, and biking. Lakes Park has also been designated by the American Heart Association as an official "Smart! Walking Path!"
